At the morning service on September 10th representatives of the 3 charities were able to explain how the money raised, £16,020.35, would be used.

Church Charity September 2021 to August 2022

At the morning service on September 11th representatives of the 3 charities were present to explain how the money raised, £15,562.29, would be used.
Jo Sharp (Forever Stars), Fiona Peel (Datum Foundation) and Brad Moore (Operation Orphan) are with members of the Church Charity committee.

The charities for the year were Datum Foundation, Forever Stars and Operation Orphan.
Datum Foundation is working on a project to refurbish a Community Clinic in Chilwina, Malawi.

Forever Stars has requested help to develop the Serenity Garden at Highfields, Nottingham.

Operation Orphan supports Forget-Me-Notts to help accommodate young people and the money raised will provide new mattresses.

Church Charity March 2021 to August 2021
From March 1st we supported just The Ark Advice Centre, Nottingham. £2220.08 was carried forward. The total raised by August 31st was £7556.51, making the Grand Total £9776.59.

For the first 6 months of the Charity Year September 2020 to August 2021 we decided to continue our support for Maua Methodist Hospital and Tree Tops Hospice. The Ark Advice Centre, Nottingham was supported for the whole year.
The fundraising remained based on ebay sales, virtual coffee mornings, donations and recycled books. The total raised by February 28th was £6660.25.
This was shared equally between the 3 charities.

For the year September 2019 to August 2020 Beeston Methodist Church supported Maua Methodist Hospital, Kenya Youth Project, Nottingham Breast Cancer Care and Tree Tops Hospice Care. The total raised by September 11th was £13566.58 (see figures below).
On January 15th £2,000 was given to Nottingham Breast Cancer Care and early in February £1,000 was sent to Maua Methodist Hospital. Following the spread of Covid-19 both Maua Methodist Hospital and Tree Tops Hospice Care appealed for support. The Hospital needed to buy Personal Protective Equipment as preparations were made to treat patients affected by the virus. Tree Tops was one of many British charities facing a drop in income. We were able to send money to both

For the year September 2018 to August 2019 Beeston Methodist Church supported Citizens Advice Broxtowe and Thrive Village, Tanzania. Cheques were presented on September 15 to Hannah Towlson for Thrive Village and Sally Bestwick for Citizens Advice Broxtowe. The total raised was £16637.00
