The Concert by the Long Eaton Silver Prize Training Band will be raising money in support of the church visit to volunteer in the LIV project, South Africa.

‘Favourites Old & New’ will be presented under the baton of Music Director Robert Parker, who says the programme will include plenty of popular numbers selected by band members and supporters. ‘My personal favourites are Bernstein’s Candide overture and our tribute to big-band heroes like Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington,’ he admits. ‘But also up there are some great tunes from hit musical La La Land and an amazing arrangement of rugby anthem Sospan Fach chosen by our chairman.’
The Nottingham Organists’ Association has arranged a Welsh Hymnody with a focus on Welsh hymns.
Following a welcome and opening voluntary there will be talks on the history of hymns in Welsh culture and also Male Voice Choirs.
During an interval for refreshments members of the organists’ society will play Welsh music on the organ.
From 2.45 to 4 p.m. the BMC singers and members of other choirs will lead a Big Welsh Sing.
Admission is free with donations to charity.

‘The Stanza Singers’ consist of a twenty-strong group of past and present members of various amateur operatic societies from the Nottinghamshire are. Locally based at St Johns Methodist Church in Carlton, the group, with an eye for comedy, enjoy singing songs from the shows together with two-, three- and four-part arrangements of well-known songs.

A Jamboree of musical entertainment. The performers will include
soloists and small groups, including a harpist, trumpeters and
organists. The concert is part of the fundraising efforts by local
Scouts to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America 2019.
