Introducing Beeston Methodist Church

Beeston Methodist Church can trace its roots back to the late 18th century when a small group of people met in a barn off Middle Street. In 1805 they built a small chapel on a nearby site.

The present church building at Chilwell Road opened in 1902 and celebrated its centenary in 2002.

In 2014, four Methodist churches in the Beeston/Chilwell area united to form a single church known as Beeston Methodist Church. It brought together the commitment, energies and resources of several hundred people, who started worshipping together for services at their premises located on Chilwell Road from Easter, 2016. Over the next few years, it is planned to redevelop to church to meet community needs in the 21st century.

Beeston Methodist Church welcomes and serves all people. We believe in an inclusive church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We are here for you. God is calling us to offer spiritual nourishment and growth to all, serve our local community and be a strong voice for justice. In October 2021, BMC unreservedly agreed to the holding of same-sex marriage service in its premises.

As part of our commitment to the local and global community, Beeston Methodist Church is strongly committed to standing up for climate justice. It has already gained the Eco Church Bronze Award and is now working towards the Silver Award.
