Christmas Concert by Carlton Male Voice Choir
Adults £6 (£5 in advance), Child £3
Kimber’s men are a group of singers and musicians whose shows are full of humour, stories, music and toe-tapping songs, performed with wonderful a capella harmonies or accompaniment on guitars, whistles, bandolin and Border bagpipes.
The group possesses a wide vocal range, with John Bromley being one of the finest bass singers on the British folk scene, Joe Stead, having performed with legendary American singer, Pete Seeger.
Probably the finest and funniest purveyors of sea shanties in Europe, this group never fails to entertain.
This concert is part of Village Ventures, Notts County Council’s Rural and Touring Scheme, co-ordinated by Artservice and financially assisted by Arts Council East Midlands, Notts CC and the seven District Councils.
Undoubtedly one of the most industrious bands on the UK roots circuit, Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra play their own brand of Western swing, blues, Gypsy jazz and country.
Drawing on an eclectic range of styles and influenced by early 20th century American music, with the addition of razor-sharp solos, irresistible arrangements and expanding repertoire of original material, their music harks back to a golden age whilst staying perfectly modern.
The songs are penned by Rob Heron, a crazy fool for country music and a full-time dandy-cowboy. His songs are full of character, satire and good old fashion hollerin’.
This concert is part of Village Ventures, Notts County Council’s Rural and Touring Scheme, co-ordinated by Artservice and financially assisted by Arts Council East Midlands, Notts CC and the seven District Councils.
