10:30am – BMC Junior Church – Theme: Roots, Open wide your hearts.
Paul tells the Corinthians that they are God’s servants and co-workers. Paul’s sufferings as a Christian should bind the church community together, not drive it apart.
This week’s resources explore: being God’s servants and co-workers.
The Junior Church are organising a Church family picnic following the morning service on Sunday 24th June. This will be on Highfields near the pavillion/playground area. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own picnic. If you would like to come along, it would be great to see you. If wet the picnic will be held in the hall at the Queens road site. More information can be had from the Junior Church Leaders.
10:30am – BMC Junior Church – Theme: Roots, My grace is sufficient.
Paul writes about being ‘caught up into Paradise’, but declines to boast about it. Instead he focuses on his ‘thorn in the flesh’ because it makes him boast only about his weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in him.
This week’s resources explore: how God uses perceived weaknesses as a source of strength and blessing.
10:30am – BMC Junior Church – Theme: Roots, Gathered in Christ.
Paul writes of God’s plans for the whole of creation and, against that background, of the inheritance or destiny of those who have set their hope on Christ. They are the adopted children of God.
This week’s resources explore: being chosen by God; God’s plan for creation.
10:30am – BMC Junior Church – Theme: Roots, Household of God.
Paul writes that Jesus breaks down the walls of division between people of different ethnic origins – he brings reconciliation and makes peace. Those who follow him are no longer strangers, but fellow members of the household of God.
This week’s resources explore: how, in Christ, human divisions are broken down and a new community is built.
We are hosting an Evening John and Carita McCrire from LIV Village South Africa. They are in Nottingham for a couple of days during a 3-month tour of the UK and really wanted to come and share some time with Beeston Methodist Church to update us not only on village life but also to thank us for our continued support for the work on the village.
This evening coincides with the return of our own group who have been out at the the LIV Village in Durban for the last few weeks and we thought it would be great opportunity to share something of that trip.
Also…
After we have heard from Jono, Carita and our oen intrepid explorers we will have a bring-and-share meal together, if you plane to join us please sign-up on the sheet in the coffee bar, making sure you read the information about Health and Safety.
Please come along and support this evening. It will be a time of real celebration for the work that goes on at LIV and the ongoing relationship we have with them.
